My primary research interests are the development of curriculum-based measures in reading, written expression, and content area learning for secondary students with learning disabilities. Research on CBM at the elementary level has demonstrated that teacher use of CBM procedures result in improved student achievement gains. My interests are to extend the work conducted at the elementary-school level to the secondary-school level in order to investigate the effects of using CBM on achievement for students in middle and high school.
I am currently a Co-principal Investigator of an OSEP Field Initiated Project called "Creating a Progress Monitoring System: Preparing Secondary Students with Disabilities for Success on Standards Tests."
