My research interests involve
developing effective instructional
practices and assessment tools for academically diverse learners,
including students at-risk, students with disabilities, and students
from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. I am
particularly interested in literacy instruction, assessment, and
scaling up best practices for effective implementation and
sustainability in classrooms.
I have used Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM) in my research
examining approaches to identifying and treating nonresponders to
evidence-based intervention. I am currently examining the technical
adequacy and utility of CBM oral reading and maze measures in
monitoring the progress of secondary-level English Language
Learners. I am also working with my RIPM colleagues to develop a
seamless and flexible progress monitoring system in reading and
written expression. |
